Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a new patient. If you have not already filled out the patient FORMS on this website, you will be given the paperwork to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Welsh to discuss your health-related concerns, as well as potential treatment options. This section is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition, your expectations and your goals for your care. Take this opportunity to explain your condition to the doctor in as much depth as you can.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Welsh will perform a complete chiropractic examination, using standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations as needed. This section is designed to get a better insight into your specific condition and overall health.

X-Ray Studies

In order to get a full evaluation of your specific condition, x-rays may be needed. X-rays will help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most patients are fascinated by their x-rays and enjoy seeing them.

Report of Findings (may be the second visit)

Once all the information and examination have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:

    1. Can you help me?

    2. What do you recommend that I do to get better?

    3. How much is it going to cost?

Now the doctor will go over your history, exam findings, x-ray if taken and discuss your goals and the doctor’s goals of care. He will recommend any exercises and treatments you may need. With your goal and the doctor’s goals for care laid out, your specific treatment plan and wellness program well be given.

Treatment

Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the second appointment but may take place at the first visit also. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies along with exercise training or nutritional supplementation. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will most comfortable with.

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, most patients will be instructed on the wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and /or stretches. As time goes by with every visit, exercises stretches and or modalities may change. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining proper functional support, healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
